The SOFI telematic tool will allow to access medical prescriptions through a direct chat with health professionals or even activate a SOS button. The application, which is already under development, is one of the finalist proposals of the European eCare project.
What would happen if virtual assistants such as SIRI or Alexa could respond to the health demands of the patients on a personalized manner and within a short time? Under this assumption, Social and Frailty Innovation (SOFI) is born, a global solution to detect, prevent and manage the vulnerability of this group. It is an application promoted from two Spanish companies: Evidenze, a company expert in the management of health knowledge, and Atenzia, specialist in the social and health area.
With SOFI, the elderly will be able to have a better control of their drugs and diet, while they will be able to communicate easily with healthcare professionals and their caregivers. The application, which is under development, is one of the finalist proposals of the European eCare project.
Health control for the most vulnerable
SOFI is a tool that, on the one hand, has an application for the elderly and their caregivers with customizable services that will range from access to medical prescriptions to a direct chat with healthcare professionals, a forum for patients, the query of the activities organized in a given specific geographic area, and even a SOS button. In addition, it also offers other possibilities, such as relaxation exercises, a personalized program of physical exercise, of nutrition and educational content. The content that SOFI can offer to users is personalized after a questionnaire and includes modules to manage also the social and emotional aspects of the user.
“SOFI acts bidirectionally
for patients and medical specialists,
for the purpose of providing
support and give response
to the patient needs in real time.”
On the other hand, SOFI is also a web platform designed for medical and social assistance professionals to monitor the activity of their patients and control and respond to the evolution of their needs in real time. Through the application, they can carry out a follow-up with graphs and statistics, access and share a care plan and even predict a situation of vulnerability.
Specifically, SOFI is a global solution that goes beyond, since with the compilation of the data it can be used to perform social-economic analyses and establish new social-health needs for a given group of people.

The SOFI project, co-developed from Evidenze Digital Health unit and the company Atenzia, is in the penultimate stage of prototyping and is one of the finalist proposals of the European eCare project, that has as objective to offer disruptive digital solutions for the prevention and integral management of vulnerability of the people.
Evidenze and Atenzia will make their SOFI application a reality, by developing their own operational system during the next ten months. The objective is to verify that their proposal meets the functional requirements and the expected performance, ensuring that the solution is focused on the user. The best two proposals will be developed in the final phase of this European competition.
